Common crops affected
Why it matters
It spreads extremely fast and rots fruit and tubers, so prevention and rapid response are critical — once widespread it's very hard to stop.
When it appears
Cool, wet, humid weather; explosive spread.
How to identify it
- Large water-soaked dark lesions on leaves and stems
- White fuzzy growth under lesions in humid conditions
- Rapid foliage collapse; firm brown fruit/tuber rot
How to manage it
- Maximise airflow; avoid leaf wetness; never work wet plants.
- Remove infected plants immediately.
- Apply Spore Control (1:1,000) ahead of and during cool, wet weather.
