Vegalab provides samples and trial material to veterinarians, integrators, pest management professionals, researchers and distributors who can run structured evaluations. Current products are available as samples; pipeline actives are supplied under trial agreements with a defined protocol.
What you can request
Samples of Vetpure Disinfectant, Vetpure Miticide and PureTabs for evaluation within their current labels. Trial material for pipeline programs: Tick Control (encapsulated geraniol for tick residual testing), the crawling insect concentrate for ants and cockroaches, and premise-use evaluations of Spider Mite Control, Slug Control, Larva BioControl and Mosquito BioControl. Premise trials of crop products support future label amendments and are run under experimental use rules, not as commercial application. Tell us which program interests you.
How a trial runs
You tell us the site, target pest or hygiene problem, and your capacity. We propose a protocol with treatments, an untreated or standard check, replicate count and assessment intervals, usually day 1, 7, 14 and 28 for residual work. We ship material with labels and safety data. You record counts or swab results; we analyze and return a report. Our reference design is the planned USDA-ARS larval packet test with an Ixodes scapularis nymph arm.
Who qualifies
Licensed pest management firms, veterinary practices, poultry and livestock integrators, universities and government research groups, and registered distributors. Individual homeowners should use labeled products from the shop. We may decline requests where the site, species or jurisdiction does not permit a compliant trial. Researchers publishing independent work are welcome. We ask for a brief description of your facilities, the site you propose, and any required licenses so we can match material and protocol. Requests are reviewed within two weeks.
Key facts
- Experimental use permits may be required for field testing of unregistered pesticide uses above small-scale thresholds (40 CFR part 172).
- Published geraniol mortality bioassays against ticks center on larvae, which leaves nymph-stage data as the gap our trial addresses (Singh et al. 2018, Ticks Tick Borne Dis 9:201).
- Encapsulated nootkatone held 100% control of Ixodes scapularis nymphs for 8 weeks in residential field trials, versus about one week for an emulsifiable formulation (Bharadwaj et al. 2012, J Med Entomol 49:1035).
How our delivery technology applies
Every trial tests the delivery hypothesis directly: encapsulated versus neat active at matched load, assessed over time. That design isolates what the multi-layer shell contributes to residual, penetration or stability, so results translate into label data rather than anecdotes. Neat and encapsulated arms use the same active load.
