Dilution and Dose Calculator

Tool in development

The calculator converts a product's label rate into the amount of concentrate, powder or tablets to add for a given tank, footbath or water-line volume. It uses only rates on the current label for the selected site and jurisdiction, and it shows the working so the user can check it.

Inputs

Product (from the labeled product table); site, filtered to sites on that product's label; application type (sprayer tank, fogger, footbath, water-line proportioner, surface area); volume in liters or US gallons, or area in square meters or square feet; for water lines, proportioner ratio (for example 1:128) and daily water use; unit preference. Optional: number of tanks or batches per cleandown, and existing stock solution strength for chlorine dioxide. Units convert automatically.

Logic

The tool reads the label rate for the product and site, expressed as a ratio, a weight per volume or a target concentration. For ratios, concentrate = total volume divided by (ratio + 1). For target concentrations such as mg/L chlorine dioxide, amount = target concentration x volume divided by the product's yield per gram or per tablet, rounded up to whole tablets. For proportioners, the stock solution is calculated so the delivered line concentration equals the label target. Unit conversions use 1 US gallon = 3.785 L. If a site is not on the label, the tool returns no number and a note that the use is not labeled.

Outputs and limits

A result block with the amount to add, the final concentration, the formula used, the label version and effective date, and required PPE and re-entry text copied from the label. A print view for posting at the mixing station. Hard limits: no rate for sites or pests not on the label, no rates for in-development uses (tick, crawling insect, premise cross-lists), no animal dosing and no drinking-water concentration above the label maximum. Example for testing: Spider Mite Control at its 1:500 crop rate in 10 L of spray gives 20 mL concentrate.

Key facts

  • The US maximum residual disinfectant level for chlorine dioxide in drinking water is 0.8 mg/L (40 CFR 141.65)
  • Spider Mite Control at 1:500 delivers about 0.57 mg/mL geraniol (Vegalab formulation data)
  • Label directions are legally binding on the user (FIFRA section 12(a)(2)(G))

How our delivery technology applies

Encapsulated products are dosed on delivered active, not on raw concentrate weight. The calculator stores each product's yield (for example chlorine dioxide per gram of Vetpure powder or per PureTabs tablet, geraniol per mL of Spider Mite Control) so that the output is the concentration the target actually sees.
