Cucurbits give two separate openings and both are short. Fruit set fails flower by flower, so support has to run through flowering rather than land on one date. Powdery and downy mildew then move through a dense canopy quickly once humidity holds, and coverage is the limiting factor - these are contact products, so the underside of the leaf matters as much as the top, and a spray that only wets the upper canopy leaves the mildew where it starts. Both Mildew Control and Spore Control carry zero pre-harvest interval, which matters on a crop picked repeatedly over weeks.
