When it appears
On foliar-stage larvae before they enter the fruit; scout webbed leaves.
How to identify it
- Webbed, rolled or folded leaves with larvae and frass inside.
- Entry holes in fruit with frass, internal tunnelling and rot.
- Green larvae with pale longitudinal stripes; rapid feeding on tender growth.
How to manage it
- Apply Larva Control at early-instar stage to foliage and fruit zones;
- sanitise infested fruit.
- Monitor early, treat at the right window above, and use cultural measures (sanitation, airflow/drainage or resistance/rotation as relevant).
