How the formula is built
Base. Sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) water is the first ingredient, ahead of water. Glycerin and butylene glycol are the humectants; the class is described on humectants. Alcohol is the fourth ingredient. Hydroxyethylcellulose sets the texture.
Key ingredients. Niacinamide is the seventh ingredient, followed by arginine. Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD), artichoke leaf extract and adenosine sit further down the list. The research on the first and third is on the niacinamide and NAD pages. The studies there describe the ingredient itself.
Scent. Patchouli, lemon peel, eucalyptus, lemongrass, citronella and peppermint oils give the serum a botanical scent, and peppermint gives a cooling feel on application. PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil disperses the oils in the water base. Limonene and citral are declared fragrance allergens, listed in the declaration as the regulations require. Both are explained on fragrance allergens, and the Sculpting row on patch testing and allergens lists them with the citronella and lemongrass constituents.
Preservation. 1,2-hexanediol, ethylhexylglycerin, caprylhydroxamic acid and caprylyl glycol are the preservative ingredients, with disodium EDTA as a chelator and citric acid to adjust the pH.

The vials and stoppers are sterilized before filling. Each ampoule is filled and sealed immediately under a butyl stopper and a 20 mm aluminum crimp with a flip-off cap. The serum is a preserved cosmetic formulation.
Each application is 1.5 ml, drawn through the stopper with a syringe. Three full applications per vial. Thirty per box. After the first draw, refrigerate and use within 28 days. Every carton carries its expiry date and lot number. How the vial is entered and stored is set out in vial handling.
