Clinic plus home: the six-week course
Clinic plus home, in short
A course is six professional sessions, one a week, with a home routine that starts at the first session and runs every day in between. Week four is a formal reassessment. After week six, a maintenance session every four to six weeks holds what the course achieved. The clinic sets the intensity; the home routine does most of the work, because you manage your own skin for far more hours than you spend in the chair.
This is the third rung, after the starter and advanced routines, in the skin types guide.
How a course runs
The structure below follows the six-week client course that Vegalab publishes for professionals. It starts with a separate consultation, set out in consultation and skin mapping, where one concern is chosen, the face is mapped and photographed, and all six dates go in the diary.
| Week | In the clinic | At home, from this session |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | The protocol at its gentlest, to establish tolerance | The core three: cleanser, toner, moisturizer |
| 2 | The protocol at working intensity | The treatment serum is added |
| 3 | Full protocol, focused on the zones that matter most | Nothing new. Consistency is the job. |
| 4 | Reassessment. Re-mapping and photographs under the same conditions | A targeted addition, only if the re-map supports it |
| 5 | The strongest session of the course | Nothing new |
| 6 | Final photographs, compared side by side with week one | The maintenance plan, in writing |
Week four has three possible outcomes: continue, adjust the protocol, or stop and refer. A course that is not working ends at week four.
How clinic and home alternate
The home routine starts at session one. A typical home set for a hydration course is Comfort Cleansing Milk, Bio-Ferment Essence Toner and AquaCell Moisturizer, with the treatment serum added at session two. Your professional chooses the serum for your concern.
The sealed vial set is the course format. In the published course, the treatment serum can be a daily bottle or a box of Hyaluronic Skin Repair NanoSerum, Sealed Vial Set used on two evenings a week, one 1.5 ml application from a sealed vial each evening. Each vial holds three full applications, drawn through the stopper with a syringe, so the contents stay sealed between uses. Your professional shows you how. Why the format exists is explained in the sealed vial format, and storage after the first draw in how long an opened vial lasts.
Treatment days follow a card. After each session your professional writes two dates: when actives resume and when you are next booked. The at-home maintenance card is the template. Vegalab products go on intact skin. If a treatment leaves skin broken, follow the treating professional's own aftercare until it is intact, then return to the card.
Comfort products have a place. Soothing Recovery Gel is the usual choice for evenings when intact skin feels warm or tight during a course.
Sunscreen, every morning, any brand. During a course that includes resurfacing it is part of the treatment.
What happens in the clinic
Which treatment runs inside a course is the professional's choice. The protocol is the treating professional's clinical decision. The treatments guide explains the common options in plain terms, including chemical peels and microdermabrasion and hydradermabrasion.
What to expect
- Weeks 1 and 2: the look and feel right after each session. Nothing cumulative yet.
- Weeks 3 and 4: the first changes you notice without being asked.
- Weeks 5 and 6: a visible difference against the week one photographs, in the zones treated.
Results hold with the home routine and the maintenance sessions. Without them, the appearance drifts back over the following months.
The ingredients behind a hydration course
The hydration course is the most common starting point. The ingredients behind it are covered in the library: hyaluronic acid, centella asiatica and the wider group of humectants.
Finding a course
Vegalab courses are run by independent clinics. Find one in clinics that use Vegalab. Professionals who want to run the course can open a professional account.
When to stop and see a physician
Stop the course and see a physician if anything in the treated area becomes tender, warm, spreading or new, or if the skin reacts at a session in a way it did not before.
Frequently asked questions
Why six weeks?
Long enough for a cumulative change in appearance to show and be photographed, short enough to finish, with a natural reassessment point at week four. After the course, a maintenance session every four to six weeks holds what was gained.
Do I stop my home routine on treatment days?
Your professional gives you a written card with two dates: when actives resume and when the next appointment is. Follow the card, not how your skin feels the next morning.
Can I buy the sealed vial set without a clinic?
The vial set is a professional format, supplied through clinics as part of a course. Your professional shows you how to draw a 1.5 ml application through the stopper.
