The advanced routine: two NanoSerums, morning and evening
The advanced routine, in short
The advanced routine runs two NanoSerums, one in the morning and one in the evening, and adds a toner and an eye and neck cream. Each serum does one job: a hydrating serum by day, a targeted serum by night. Exfoliating acids come in gradually, in the evening only, with daily sunscreen non-negotiable.
Start here only after the starter routine has run without a reaction for several weeks. Both sit in the skin types guide.
The routine
Morning: hydrate and protect
- Cleanse, or rinse with water if your skin is dry.
- Tone. Bio-Ferment Essence Toner, pressed in, not wiped. Leave the skin damp.
- Treat. A hydrating NanoSerum on damp skin: Hyaluronic Skin Repair NanoSerum for dry, sensitive or mature skin, Hydrating NanoSerum for oily or combination skin.
- Eye and neck. Bio-Thread Eye and Neck Cream: one rice grain per eye on the bone of the orbital rim, a pea-sized amount for the neck.
- Seal. AquaCell Moisturizer.
- Protect. A daily broad-spectrum sunscreen, any brand, on the face and neck. Vegalab does not sell a sunscreen.
Evening: target
- Cleanse. Twice if you wore makeup or sunscreen.
- Tone, as in the morning.
- Treat. The targeted NanoSerum for your main concern: - Uneven-looking tone and dullness: Brightening NanoSerum. - Visible pores and texture: Clarifying NanoSerum. - Dryness with no second concern: the morning serum again.
- Eye and neck cream, as in the morning.
- Seal. AquaCell Moisturizer.
The layering rules
- One NanoSerum per application. Two treatment serums in one layer double the dose. Morning and evening is a split.
- Thinnest to thickest. Toner, serum, eye and neck cream, moisturizer, sunscreen.
- One exfoliating serum. Brightening and Clarifying are both exfoliating steps. Choose one.
- In the sealed vial set formulas, neither Hyaluronic Skin Repair nor Brightening NanoSerum contains fragrance, and Clarifying contains tea tree leaf oil and rosemary leaf extract.
Introducing acids
Brightening NanoSerum contains three alpha hydroxy acids, glycolic, mandelic and lactic acid, with niacinamide and tranexamic acid for the look of a more even tone. How AHAs work is covered under AHAs. Introduce it gradually:
| Period | How often, evenings only |
|---|---|
| Weeks 1 and 2 | Two evenings a week, not consecutive |
| Weeks 3 and 4 | Every other evening |
| From week 5 | Nightly, if the skin is comfortable |
If the skin stings for more than a few minutes after application, or looks pink the next morning, go back one stage and hold there for two weeks. On acid evenings, skip scrubs, brushes and any other exfoliating product.
Sun sensitivity. Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards. More on this in acids and sun sensitivity.
With a retinoid. If you use a retinoid, do not use it on the same evening as an exfoliating serum. Alternate evenings. If the retinoid is prescribed, the prescriber decides.
Which concern pages go with this routine
- Dullness and radiance, for the Brightening evening.
- Visible pores and texture, for the Clarifying evening.
- Eye area and neck, for the eye and neck step.
When to step up or step back
Step up to the clinic plus home routine when a concern has not moved after a few months of consistent home care, or before an event you want to plan for. Step back to the starter routine for two weeks whenever the skin reacts.
For professionals
The full sequence for every product in the range, with wait times, is in layering order and incompatibilities. The dullness and radiance protocol uses Brightening NanoSerum in the room and sets the home cadence. Clients planning chemical peels should pause home acids for the interval the treating professional sets.
Frequently asked questions
Can I layer two NanoSerums in one application?
Keep to one per layer. Two treatment serums in one layer double the dose and make any reaction harder to trace. Split them between morning and evening.
Why is Brightening NanoSerum an evening step?
The sealed vial set contains glycolic, mandelic and lactic acids, which can increase the skin's sensitivity to the sun. Evening use keeps the fresh acid layer out of daylight, and morning sunscreen covers the rest.
Can I use Brightening and Clarifying NanoSerum together?
Not in the same routine. Both are exfoliating steps. Pick the one that matches your main concern and use it in the evening.
