For licensed skincare professionals
Pre-event radiance, 48 hours out
Two appointments: 45 minutes at 48 hours out, 20 minutes on the morning of.
The constraint on this protocol is the deadline. Every choice in it exists because there is no time left to recover from anything.
Who this is for
A client with a fixed date and skin already in reasonable condition. Wedding, photography, camera, stage, a family event. This is a finishing protocol: it changes hydration, surface smoothness, puffiness and how light sits on the skin, and nothing else. The booking window is part of the eligibility. A client who calls at 48 hours can have both appointments; one who walks in the afternoon before gets the short one, and less of it.
Who this is not for
- Anyone who has had a resurfacing, acid, enzyme, needling or stimulation treatment in the last 10 days, from any provider. Ask specifically; clients do not volunteer it.
- Active irritation, broken skin, or any open lesion in the treatment area.
- A cold sore, or the tingling that precedes one. Do not treat over it and do not touch it.
- Known sensitivity to any ingredient used. Check the full INCI.
- A first-time client inside 24 hours of the event. You do not know how they respond and there is no window left in which to find out. Offer the morning-of session only.
When a client asks for extractions, a peel, or something stronger before the date, the answer is no, and the reason is worth saying out loud: anything with a visible settling period has one, and the event sits inside it. The protocol is the treating professional's clinical decision.
Before you begin
Book both appointments together, before the client leaves the desk, and count back from the hour of the event rather than the day. The 24 hours between the two sessions is not padding: it is the margin in which anything unexpected appears and settles with a full day still in hand, and it is the whole reason the protocol has this shape.
Appointment one, 48 hours out
| Step | Product | Amount | Dwell | Technique |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Comfort Cleansing Milk | 2 pumps | 60 sec | Emulsify in the palms, work over dry skin, remove with warm damp cotton. |
| 2 | Comfort Cleansing Milk, second cleanse | 1 pump | 45 sec | On damp skin. Remove and blot; do not rub dry. |
| 3 | Bio-Ferment Essence Toner | Saturate 2 cotton rounds | Leave damp | Press over the face. Do not wipe. Skin stays visibly damp into step 4. |
| 4 | Brightening NanoSerum, sealed vial | 1.5 ml, drawn through the stopper | 5 min | Onto damp skin, flat palms, face and neck. Keep off the eyelid. |
| 5 | Hyaluronic Skin Repair NanoSerum, sealed vial | 1.5 ml | 5 min | Second layer onto still-damp skin. If it has gone matte, mist with Aqua Infusion Mist first. |
| 6 | Cryo Cooling Gel, chilled | Thin layer | 3 min | Jaw, along the orbital rim, down the sides of the neck. Remove with cool damp cotton. |
| 7 | AquaCell Moisturizer | Pea-sized | 2 min | Press and roll. |
| 8 | Lumina Brightening Cream | Small amount | Leave on | Thin, over the areas the client reads as uneven. A finishing step, not a base layer. |
Six to eight minutes of light, slow massage strokes run inside the dwell periods at steps 4 and 5, from the center of the face outward and down the sides of the neck. No deep tissue, no percussive work, no cupping, no pressure that can leave a mark. Anything that bruises has 48 hours to show and no way to hide.
Appointment two, the morning of
| Step | Product | Amount | Dwell | Technique |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Comfort Cleansing Milk | 1 pump | 45 sec | Single cleanse. You are removing last night's product, not makeup. Remove with damp cotton. |
| 2 | Bio-Ferment Essence Toner | 1 cotton round | Leave damp | Press, do not wipe. |
| 3 | Cryo Cooling Gel, chilled | Thin layer | 5 min | Orbital rim and jaw. This is the puffiness step and it is the reason for the appointment. Remove with cool damp cotton. |
| 4 | Hyaluronic Skin Repair NanoSerum, sealed vial | 1.5 ml | 3 min | Onto damp skin. Press in. No massage today. |
| 5 | AquaCell Moisturizer | Pea-sized | 2 min | Press and roll, then let it sit undisturbed for the full two minutes. |
| 6 | Aqua Infusion Mist | 2 to 3 passes | Leave on | At arm's length. Then leave the skin alone. |
Makeup goes on no sooner than 10 minutes after step 6, and 20 is better. Moisturizer that has not set will move foundation, and the client will blame the foundation.
The one thing that determines whether this protocol works: nothing on this skin is new, and nothing on this skin is aggressive. That is the entire protocol. Any step carrying even a small chance of a visible reaction belongs more than two weeks before an event, not two days. The pressure in the room runs the other way, because the client asks for more as the date gets closer and the correct answer gets smaller. A calm, hydrated, lightly handled face photographs better than a resurfaced one that is forty hours into a five-day settle.
Frequency and course
Once per event. This is not a course and it is not the answer to a concern. If the client wants their skin materially different by the date, that conversation starts six weeks out with the protocol for the actual concern, and this one is only the finish on the end of it. Book the course and the pre-event pair together. Do not run this protocol twice in one week for the same client.
Aftercare
- Nothing new on the face between the two appointments. No first-time mask, no exfoliation, no acid, no retinoid.
- No facial waxing, threading or tinting inside 48 hours of the event.
- Daily broad-spectrum sun protection, from any brand. A burn 24 hours out cannot be fixed.
- Water below body temperature, and no hot shower on the face the morning of.
- Clean pillowcase, and sleep slightly elevated the night before if the client is prone to puffiness. Low salt and low alcohol that night does more for the morning face than the morning appointment does.
What to expect, and when
After appointment one: smoother, more even skin, makeup sitting flatter. Any first-night flush settles overnight, which is expected and is why this sits at 48 hours and not at 12.
The 24 hours between: this is the margin. If anything reacts, it happens here, with a full day left to settle and a chance to change plan.
After appointment two: less puffiness at the eyes and jaw, an even surface, and the skin at its best hydration for the day. Hours, not days, which is all the event needs.
Scope: in 48 hours this protocol changes water, surface and light. Pigmentation, texture and the structure of the skin work on longer timelines. Anyone promising more on a two-day timeline is either running something with a settling period or is not being honest.
Home maintenance
In between, morning: cleanse, tone onto damp skin, AquaCell Moisturizer, sun protection.
In between, evening: cleanse, tone, one 1.5 ml application of Hyaluronic Skin Repair from a sealed vial onto damp skin on the night before the event, AquaCell Moisturizer.
Nothing else. Use the word "nothing" out loud, because clients add things.
For the client who books far enough ahead, the vials are the retail conversation here. Every other night for the two weeks before an event, plus the night before, is eight applications, or three vials at three applications each. A ten-vial box covers that and carries on as a twice-weekly routine afterward. Sell it at the consultation, not at the door on the morning of. Show the mechanics once: the cap flips off, the syringe draws through the stopper, the stopper stays in place.
When to refer
Refer to a physician, and cancel appointment two, if:
- Any reaction between the two sessions is spreading or swelling, or involves the eyelids or lips. Same day, not the morning of.
- There are hives, welts, or swelling that changes shape.
- A cold sore appears, or the client reports the tingling that precedes one. A client with a history should be raising it with their physician weeks before an event, not on the day.
- There is any new lesion the client cannot account for.
- There is fever or anything else systemic.
The most useful thing you can do 48 hours before an event is decline to do the interesting thing. Note the request in the file and offer the six-week course for the next date.
