Pin Nematodes: How to Identify, Treat & Control Them

Pin nematodes (Paratylenchus spp.) are tiny ectoparasites that feed on root hairs. They’re minor on some crops but contribute to decline in mixed infestations, and are named on the Nematode Control label.

How to identify it

  • Subtle vigour loss, rarely dramatic alone
  • Feeds on root hairs and fine roots
  • Usually part of a multi-species population

Recommended Vegalab solution: Nematode Control

Where flagged alongside damaging species, soil-directed Nematode Control reduces the overall parasitic load.
